Materials
Web hosting and domain purchased through Directnic and offline data storage: USB Flash Drive or External Hard Drive - Do not rely on the computers in lab alone to store your work.
The website build portion of this course will focus on the expansion of your new HTML and CSS 1.0 knowledge. During this part of your project you will learn about the differences between CSS 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0, how they are applied, and when to use which version. Your website should feature the following pages and information:
Homepage / Welcome Page
This will be the first page viewers will see when coming to your new website. Keep in mind that this is also where the user gets a first look at your site navigation. Site navigation should be intuitive and at the same time assitive in directing your user where they would like to go next.
About Page
The about page can feature information about yourself as a designer or artist. It is ok to mention some personal interests you may have, but keep them brief, this website is about you as a designer, not a facebook page. It may also be a wise location to place a link to your resume.
Portfolio Page
It would be wise to include some information for each piece of work. For example: a small description, programs used to make the piece, web/print skills used, paper types, etc...
Contact Page
We will be developing a contact form for this page in class, this will include inputs for a name, email, phone, message and submit button. Make it interesting, do not just have a contact form on the page.
Free Page
This can be a page of your choosing. For example: a resume, blog, photography, illustrations, paintings, etc.
